About Us
Fellowship Bible church began in 1980,
meeting in a home. After a few weeks, encouraged by growth,
services were moved to Sandy High School. After twelve years
we moved to the Seventh Day Adventist Facility. In 1997 we
were invited by Community Presbyterian Church to join them
in the use of their facility.
FBC's original philosophy was one of
team leadership. Therefore, at the time there was no tradtional
role of a head pastor. In August of 1998 the leadership concluded
that it was time to seek pastoral care beyond what the existing
elders could supply. Subsequent to this decision both Galen
Howell, and John Mayner have exercised their gifts in this
role as Pastor. In June of 2006, Gregg Chastain took over
the pastoral ministries of FBC.
From the beginning the emphasis has
been on ministry to people. Sandy's Pregnancy Resource Center
is an outgrowth of FBC's concern for helping women in crisis
pregnancies. Through the years many of our women have volunteered
to counsel at the Pregnancy Resource Center. Sandy's emergency
services chaplaincy originated with FBC and is significantly
supported by our church, as well as other fellowships in Sandy.
In addition the church supports ministries to all corners
of the globe, and across the United States. |
